Cloud and platform engineering in active development
Northstar is where I am extending my professional data and software background into modern cloud-platform engineering. The project combines technologies that are already being used hands-on with components of the target architecture that are being implemented incrementally as development progresses. Beyond the tools
The skill I rely on most is tracing a problem through the system.
Much of my work has involved understanding unfamiliar schemas, undocumented behavior, complex business rules, failed migrations, inconsistent data, application behavior, and downstream discrepancies. The specific technology changes, but the process remains the same: understand the system, isolate the cause, verify the data and behavior, and build a solution that can be explained, tested, and safely maintained.
